The AKC National Owner-Handled Series celebrates the dedication and enthusiasm of owner-handler exhibitors and allows them to compete head-to-head against one another in the conformation ring. The AKC National Owner-Handled Series occurs after Best of Breed judging in each breed ring. More than 80% of show dogs are handled by their owners.
The AKC All-Time Top Winning National Owner-Handled Welsh Terrier is GCh. Ch. Dragon Shield’s Gold Standard at Windy Hill, “Jack” with 2470 OHS points thru October 3, 2022. He finished his Bronze Grand Championship on January 3, 2020, and will continue his climb into 2024 with additional OHS points fortifying his lifetime top winning owner-handled position. He is the No. 16 AKC Grand Champion Welsh Terrier with 227 points.
“Jack” was born February 1, 2017. His sire is Ch. Sanherpinc Magic Mystry Tour at Debonneaire, “Benny,” owned by Rie and Joe Hull (Windy Hill), and dam, English import Ch. Knowlelion Maid of Gold, “Louisa,” owned by Dustin Wyatt (Dragon Shield).
