Mr. Laurie Bell of Leeds bred (Daneside Debonair ex Toplight Tearose) and sold to Mrs. Edward P. Alker, Toplight Template of Twin Ponds. Before leaving for America, “Template” was four times reserve winner of the Challenge Certificates in the UK, but he soon qualified as Champion, winning Best in Show at the Montgomery County Kennel Club in both 1952 and 1953, and the Morris and Essex Kennel Club show in 1953.* “Template” won the Welsh Terrier Club of America Grand Challenge Cup in 1951 and 1954.

“Template” was the first Welsh Terrier of only seven to win Best in Show at Montgomery County Kennel Club. The six other MCKC winners include Ch. Caradoc Llwyd of St. Aubrey in 1961, Ch. Dewi of St. Aubrey in 1962, Ch. Copperboots Wee Blaste in 1978, Ch. Anasazi Billy The Kid in 1996, GCh. Ch. Abbeyrose Captain Jack in 2018, and GCh. Ch. Brightluck Money Talks in 2019.
